Buying a Home Can Be Stressful

That’s why I’m here to help. Let’s be real here, by the time you see this, chances are you are already searching on Zillow or Realtor.com. I’m not going to try and change that. If you find a place you like from one of those sites, you can text me an address, share the address via the app, etc. and I can get even more information for you. On top of that, I can also create a custom search for you through my MLS where you can define any search parameters you wish and have that sent to you as often as you like.

Please note: I never put anyone on an automatic email service like so many others. You aren’t going to get “5 tips for a better garden” emailed to you randomly just so that my mug appears in your inbox. Simply let me know what you want below, I’ll set the rest up!

FAQ

What’s the first step I should take in purchasing a home?

The very first thing you need to do is to get pre-qualified for a mortgage. This will allow you to know what realistic budget you have.

How many homes should I see before making an offer?

You should see as many as you need to ensure you find the perfect home. On average, home buyers will look at hundreds of homes online but will see 10 homes in person before writing an offer.

How long does it take to get a mortgage?

The entire mortgage process, from preapproval to getting the actual loan, can take between three to six weeks to complete when the market is stable.

How long does the home buying process take?

Typically, anywhere from 30-45 days.

How do I know if the property is a good deal?

I will look at houses that have recently sold in the area that are similar to the one you are buying to ensure that you are paying a fair price.

When can I back out if I change my mind?

You can always back out of a deal, but you may have to forfeit the earnest money you put down with the offer. Earnest money is typically around 1%-2% of the home’s price.

How much money do I need to have to actually purchase the house, for down payment, etc?

You will need at least 1% of the purchase price immediately for a binder deposit and about 3% to whatever you and your lender have decided for the down payment, unless you have a VA mortgage.

How much do real estate agents charge for assisting in buying a home?

In most cases, nothing at all! The sellers pay their realtor a fee, and then that listing agent pays the buyer’s agent for bringing the buyer and facilitating the transaction.

What else should I know?

I will be able to walk you through the entire process from start to finish. I will literally tell you what is needed next every step of the way. Make this a fun experience!
